Stand Up When Jurors Enter and Exit the Courtroom

Here’s a very simple thing you should do in every trial. Many lawyers just don’t get it!

I wonder why I see lawyers sitting at the counsel table and ignoring jurors. A complete lack of common sense?

Mitch I like to watch them come in and out. I do not think it unethical to make eye contact. also when i was younger i was so serious. now I find a jury that laughs is a money jury. Really enjoy your tips.

Common courtesy does go a long way. My students will tell you that they've learned when the jury is entering or exiting the courtroom, you Always stand up. It shows respect for the time out of their own schedules; and how much the Lawyer and his client appreciate them discharging a civil duty. But for the willingness of juries to take time and get paid pittance for the process, the jury process would come to a screeching halt. Thanks for the reminders to Lawyers. I'll post this one as I've posted the other two.
